Pressurized liquid power. Hydraulic machines pump special fluid through pipes and hoses, and the pressure of that fluid pushes pistons and motors to lift, dig, or move incredibly heavy things.
Powers construction vehicles. Bulldozers, excavators, and cranes all use hydraulics because the system can generate enormous force from a relatively small machine.
Control valves direct flow. Operators use control valves to decide where the pressurized fluid goes, allowing them to raise a bucket, lower a boom, or rotate an arm with precision.
Special hydraulic fluid. The fluid used in hydraulic systems is specially designed to flow smoothly, resist heat, and not damage the metal pipes and pumps it travels through.
Resistance creates pressure. When the fluid encounters resistance (like a heavy load), it builds up pressure, and that pressure is what does the actual work of moving or lifting something.
