Massive saber teeth. Inostrancevia had enormous dagger-like teeth that it used to hunt other animals. These teeth could grow quite long and curved, perfect for grabbing prey.

Found in two continents. Scientists discovered Inostrancevia fossils in both Russia and Southern Africa, showing that these creatures lived across different parts of the ancient world.

Very old predator. Inostrancevia lived during the Late Permian period, around 250 million years ago, long before the age of dinosaurs began.

Famous Russian discovery. The first Inostrancevia fossils were dug up in Russia starting in 1899, and they were the very first of their kind ever found in that country.

Named after a professor. This ancient creature was named in honor of Alexander Inostrantsev, a famous Russian professor who helped discover and study these incredible fossils.
