Covered in armor. Struthiosaurus had bony plates and spikes running across its back and sides to protect itself from predators, kind of like wearing a suit of armor.
Surprisingly small. At only 6 to 10 feet long and weighing about as much as a small car, Struthiosaurus was one of the tiniest armored dinosaurs that ever lived.
European explorer. This dinosaur lived in what is now Austria, Romania, and France during the very end of the dinosaur age, about 80 to 66 million years ago.
Nodosaur family. Struthiosaurus belonged to a group called nodosaurs, which were armored dinosaurs that used thick skin and plates instead of horns to stay safe.
