Costumes are show-stoppers. Modern Irish stepdancers wear colorful, eye-catching costumes designed to grab the judge's attention in competitions. These can be custom-made and cost a lot of money, and dancers often wear sparkling poodle socks and style their hair in curls.

Competitions everywhere. Stepdancers compete all around the world in events called Feiseanna, which are traditional Irish arts and culture festivals where dancers show off their skills.

Solo or group magic. Irish stepdance can be performed by a single dancer on stage or by groups of dancers moving together in perfect harmony.
