Massive protected land. Kruger National Park covers about 19,623 square kilometers in northeastern South Africa, which is roughly the size of New Jersey. It stretches 360 kilometers from north to south and 65 kilometers from east to west.

Over 125 years old. The park started protecting wildlife way back in 1898 under the South African Republic government. It officially became South Africa's first national park in 1926, making it a pioneer in conservation.

Hub is Skukuza. The park's main administrative headquarters are located in a town called Skukuza, where rangers and staff manage the entire reserve.

Part of biosphere. Kruger is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, a special region recognized worldwide for its incredible natural importance and biodiversity.
