Longhorn Cowfish

Long horns in front. The longhorn cowfish has two long spikes jutting out from the front of its head, which look a lot like a cow's or bull's horns. That's how it got its funny name.

Box-shaped body. This fish has a hard, cube-like body that belongs to a family called boxfish. Its boxy shape helps it squeeze through tight spaces on the coral reef.

Warm water home. Longhorn cowfish live in the Indo-Pacific region, which includes oceans around Asia, Australia, and the Indian Ocean where the water is warm and tropical.

Grows quite big. These fish can grow up to 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) long, which is about as long as a ruler and a half.

Slow swimmer. Despite their size, longhorn cowfish are not fast swimmers and move slowly through the water, making them easy to spot when diving or snorkeling.
