Discovered the germ theory. Pasteur proved that diseases are caused by tiny living things called microbes that we can't see. This was a huge breakthrough because before him, nobody really understood what made people sick.

Invented pasteurization. He found that heating milk and other liquids kills harmful bacteria and keeps them fresh longer. The process is named after him and is used around the world today to make milk safe to drink.

Saved lives with vaccines. Pasteur created vaccines for rabies and anthrax, two deadly diseases. His rabies vaccine was first tested on a boy bitten by a rabid dog, and it worked, helping establish vaccines as a powerful way to prevent disease.

Studied fermentation chemistry. He discovered how microbes cause fermentation in wine, beer, and vinegar. Understanding fermentation helped people control food and drink production better.

Father of microbiology. Pasteur's work was so important that he's remembered as one of the founders of bacteriology and microbiology, the sciences that study tiny living creatures and how they affect us.
