Ancient Asian fruit. Mangoes have been grown and eaten in South and Southeast Asia for thousands of years, making them one of the oldest fruits people have cultivated.

Birthplace of mangoes. Mangoes originally came from the northeastern part of India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, where the first mango trees grew wild.

Tropical tree treasures. Mangoes grow on trees called Mangifera indica, and they thrive in warm, tropical climates around the world.

Stone fruit inside. Mangoes are stone fruits, which means they have a hard pit or seed in the middle surrounded by sweet, juicy flesh that you eat.
