Watching from Earth. Mission Control is a special building where flight controllers sit at desks with computers and screens, tracking everything that happens to a spacecraft from the moment it launches until it lands safely back home.

Constant communication. The team sends commands and instructions to the spacecraft using radio signals, and they receive back information called telemetry that tells them how everything is working, like the ship's power, temperature, and direction.

Many skilled experts. Mission Control isn't just one person. It's a whole team of specialists who each watch over different parts of the spacecraft, like the engines, the electrical system, the temperature controls, and how the ship moves and orbits.

Lots of practice. Before any real mission, the flight controllers practice over and over again in the Mission Control room, doing rehearsals where they act out problems and learn to fix them so they're ready for anything that happens in space.
