Born in the 20th century. Modern musicals became popular in the early 1900s and have been a favorite form of entertainment ever since. Today, musicals are performed in theaters all around the world.

Different from opera. While opera and musical theatre might seem similar, musicals use more everyday dialogue and modern music styles, making them feel more relatable to everyday audiences.
