River valley farmers. The Nazca lived in river valleys in southern Peru where they grew crops and built an advanced society from around 100 BC to 800 AD. They used clever irrigation systems to bring water to their fields in the dry desert climate.
Creative culture. The Nazca built their civilization by learning from and improving upon the techniques of the Paracas people who came before them. They developed their own unique style in art, pottery, and textiles that made them stand out in ancient Peru.
