Nothronychus

Strange theropod dinosaur. Nothronychus was a theropod, which means it was related to meat-eating dinosaurs, but it was very different from the famous hunters like T. rex.

Huge curved claws. This dinosaur had enormous curved claws on its hands that scientists think it may have used to pull down trees or dig for food.

Found in the southwest. Two different species of Nothronychus were discovered in the American southwest, one near New Mexico and Arizona, and another in Utah.

Late Cretaceous creature. Nothronychus lived during the Late Cretaceous period, millions of years before the dinosaurs went extinct.
