Tallest in America. One World Trade Center is the tallest building in the United States, and it's also the tallest in the entire Western Hemisphere. Only six other buildings in the whole world are taller.

Designed by experts. The building was designed by David Childs and his team at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, one of the world's most famous architecture firms known for creating amazing skyscrapers.

The Freedom Tower. One World Trade Center is also called the Freedom Tower because it was built to replace the original World Trade Center buildings that were destroyed on September 11, 2001.

Stands on history. The new building sits right where the original 6 World Trade Center once stood, on a 16-acre site in Lower Manhattan that has been carefully rebuilt and redesigned.

Modern glass wonder. The supertall structure is made largely of glass and steel, giving it a shimmering appearance that makes it one of New York City's most recognizable and beautiful buildings.
