Chicken-sized dinosaur. Orodromeus was about the size of a modern chicken, making it one of the smallest known dinosaurs from the Late Cretaceous period.
Ate only plants. This dinosaur was a strict vegetarian that munched on ferns, seeds, and other low-growing plants.
Fast and nimble. With its long tail for balance and strong hind legs, Orodromeus could run quickly to escape from larger predators.
Lived in Montana. Fossils of Orodromeus have been found in the rocks of present-day Montana, showing it lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous.
Part of a dinosaur family. Orodromeus belonged to a group of small theropod dinosaurs called thescelosaurids, which were some of the last small dinosaurs before the extinction.
