Cool Facts
Duck-billed dinosaur. Prosaurolophus was a hadrosaur, which means it had a flat bill like a duck and could chew plants with thousands of tiny teeth.
Cool head crest. Its most special feature was a small solid crest made of nasal bones that stuck up right in front of its eyes, like a fancy hairdo.
Found in North America. Scientists have discovered fossils of at least 25 Prosaurolophus individuals in Alberta, Canada and Montana, showing that many of them lived together.
Really old fossil record. These dinosaurs lived around 75 to 74 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period, when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.
Well-studied dinosaur. We know a lot about Prosaurolophus because paleontologists found many complete skulls and skeletons, not just scattered bones.
