King of Multiple Lands. Richard ruled not just England, but also huge territories across France including Normandy, Aquitaine, and Gascony, making him one of the most powerful rulers in Europe.

The Lionheart. Richard earned his famous nickname because of his fearless reputation as a military leader and warrior, though it also comes from a French pun on his father's name.

Crusader Knight. Richard spent much of his reign fighting in the Crusades, a series of religious wars in the Holy Land, which made him famous across Europe as a heroic warrior.

Unexpected Heir. Richard wasn't supposed to become king since his father Henry II had older sons, but when his two older brothers died before their father, Richard unexpectedly inherited the throne.

Ruler of Far Lands. Richard's power extended across three countries and he even became Lord of Cyprus, showing how vast his influence was during the Middle Ages.
