Scorpion hunter. Skorpiovenator's name means 'scorpion hunter' in Spanish, and it was a meat-eating theropod dinosaur that stalked prey during the Early Cretaceous period.
Nearly complete skeleton. Scientists discovered an amazingly well-preserved skeleton of Skorpiovenator in Argentina, with most of its bones still connected to each other, which told them tons about how this dinosaur was built.
From Argentina. This dinosaur lived in what is now Argentina, South America, in a region called the Huincul Formation about 100 million years ago.
Special honor. The dinosaur was named after Manuel Bustingorry, the farmer who owned the land where the skeleton was discovered, to thank him for letting scientists dig there.
