Mostly mountains and forests. Slovenia is covered in mountains and thick forests that make it one of Europe's greenest countries. It's a pretty small nation, only about the size of a large US state.
Coast on the Adriatic Sea. Even though Slovenia is landlocked in most directions, it has a beautiful coastline on the Adriatic Sea that's about 29 miles long. This gives it access to Mediterranean beaches and sea life.
Ljubljana is the capital. Ljubljana, Slovenia's main city, sits right near the center of the country and is home to most of the nation's people and businesses. It's a cool, walkable city full of history and culture.
Slovene is the language. Slovenes speak Slovene, their own special language that's different from the languages of their neighbors. It's one of the oldest Slavic languages still spoken today.
Four different climates. Slovenia has different weather depending on where you are, from snowy mountains in the Julian Alps to milder coastal areas near the Adriatic Sea.
