Dangling babies everywhere. Spider plants make baby copies of themselves on long, thin runners that hang down like spider legs. These babies can grow roots in water and become brand new plants.

Super easy houseplant. Spider plants are one of the best plants for beginners because they're tough, don't need much sunlight, and forgive you if you forget to water them sometimes.

Part of the asparagus family. Even though they're called spider plants, they're actually related to asparagus plants, not spiders. They belong to the genus Chlorophytum, which has many different species.

Striped and stripy leaves. Most spider plants have long, skinny leaves with white or cream stripes down the middle, which makes them look fancy and bright in any room.

A plant with many names. Spider plants go by different names in different places, and some other plants like saxifrages are sometimes called spider plants too because of their spreading way of growing.
