Super springy legs. Springhares have incredibly powerful back legs that let them jump up to 6 feet in a single bound, making them look like tiny kangaroos bouncing across the African grasslands.

Night creatures. Springhares are nocturnal, which means they sleep during the day and come out at night to hunt for food like plants, seeds, and insects.

African hoppers. These animals live in southern and eastern Africa in grasslands and semi-desert areas where they have plenty of space to make their impressive jumps.

Burrow builders. Springhares dig underground burrows where they live and hide from predators during the day, making their homes in the soil of the African savanna.

Big ears help. Springhares have large ears that help them hear danger approaching in the dark, giving them an early warning if a predator like a jackal or eagle is nearby.
