Co-founded Apple. In 1976, Steve Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak started Apple Computer Company in a garage. They built one of the first personal computers, which helped bring computing into homes and schools around the world.
Kicked out, then comeback. Apple's board of directors fired Jobs in 1985 because they disagreed with his vision. But he didn't give up, starting a new company called NeXT and eventually returning to Apple in 1997 to become CEO again.
Made products beautiful. Jobs believed technology should be simple, elegant, and easy to use. He led the creation of the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad, devices that changed how millions of people work and communicate.
Brought Pixar to life. In 1986, Jobs bought a computer graphics company called Pixar and made it into a movie studio. Pixar created beloved animated films like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and Up.
Focused on design. Jobs believed that how something looks and feels is just as important as how it works. His attention to every detail, from colors to packaging, inspired a whole generation of designers and inventors.
