Tiger Shark

Striped like tigers. Tiger sharks get their name from the dark stripes running down their bodies, which look just like a tiger's pattern. As they grow up and get older, these stripes fade away until they almost disappear.

Massive females. Female tiger sharks can grow longer than 16 feet, making them one of the largest sharks in the ocean. That's about as long as a small car.

Pacific island lovers. Tiger sharks live in warm tropical and temperate waters all around the world, but they especially love hanging out around islands in the central Pacific Ocean.

Eats almost anything. Tiger sharks are not picky eaters and will hunt and eat fish, sea turtles, rays, and other sharks. They're one of the ocean's most powerful hunters.

One of a kind. Tiger sharks are the only living shark in their genus Galeocerdo, which makes them pretty special and unique in the shark world.
