Ancient circus art. Tightrope walking, also called funambulism, has been performed in circuses and shows for hundreds of years across many different countries around the world.
Perfect balance required. Walkers move slowly and carefully across thin wires or ropes, using their arms and body to stay perfectly balanced so they don't fall.
Part of circus tradition. Tightrope walkers became famous circus performers who amazed audiences with their fearless and graceful movements high above the ground.
