Made of metal. Triangles are crafted from metals like steel, brass, bronze, or aluminum, then bent into their distinctive three-sided shape with one gap left open so the sound can ring out clearly.

Held by a string. The triangle hangs from a loop of thread or wire so it can swing freely and vibrate when struck, letting it create the clearest, brightest sound possible.

Struck with a beater. You tap the triangle with a special metal rod called a beater to make it sing, and the type of beater you use changes how bright or soft the sound becomes.

Rings like a bell. Unlike drums or other percussion, the triangle doesn't have one main note, it has a shimmering mix of tones that sparkle together when struck.
