Made of Volcanoes. Vanuatu is an archipelago, which means it's a bunch of islands bunched together, and all of them came from volcanic activity under the ocean. The islands are still volcanic today, making Vanuatu one of the most volcanically active places on Earth.

Far from Home. If you drew a line east from Australia across the Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu would be about 1,090 miles away. It's nestled between Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and New Guinea in a region called Melanesia.

Island Archipelago. Instead of being one big island, Vanuatu is made up of many smaller islands spread across the South Pacific Ocean. This island chain structure is perfect for a tropical nation surrounded by ocean.
