Massive celebration. The World's Columbian Exposition was a giant fair held in Chicago from May to October 1893 to mark 400 years since Columbus arrived in the New World in 1492. Thousands of people came to see incredible exhibits, buildings, and inventions.

Central water pool. The heart of the fair was a huge pool of water in Jackson Park that represented Columbus's voyage across the ocean to discover America. It was so impressive that it became one of the most memorable parts of the entire fair.
