Wuerhosaurus

Plated dino. Wuerhosaurus was a stegosaur, meaning it had a row of bony plates running down its back and spikes on its tail, just like the famous Stegosaurus.

Chinese discovery. Scientists found the fossils of Wuerhosaurus in what is now China during the Early Cretaceous period, over 100 million years ago.

One of the last. Wuerhosaurus was one of the youngest stegosaurs ever found in the fossil record, living much later than many of its relatives.

Two species. Paleontologists have identified two different species: Wuerhosaurus homheni, discovered in 1973, and Wuerhosaurus ordosensis, found in 1993.
