Cool Facts
The Auld Mug. The America's Cup trophy is informally called the Auld Mug because it's been around since 1851, making it look old and weathered like a well-loved mug.
Two boats race. Each match is between one yacht from the team that currently holds the trophy and one from the team trying to win it away from them.
Oldest sport tradition. The America's Cup is the longest-running international competition in all of sports, which means no other sporting event has been happening continuously for as long as this one.
