Invented in 1965. Pickleball started as a backyard game for kids on Bainbridge Island in Washington State, making it one of the newest popular sports in America.

Smaller and slower. The ball is a hollow plastic sphere with holes in it, and the net is only 34 inches high, so the game feels less intense than tennis and is easier for beginners.

Two or four players. You can play pickleball as singles (one on one) or doubles (two on two), making it flexible for different group sizes.

Washington's official sport. In 2022, pickleball became the official state sport of Washington to honor its birthplace on Bainbridge Island.

Inside and outside. Whether you play in a gym, a park, or your backyard, pickleball works great in both indoor and outdoor settings.
