Tiny by sauropod standards. While most sauropods were enormous, Bajadasaurus was relatively small, making it one of the more modest members of its family.

Skull preserved perfectly. Scientists found an unusually complete skull when they discovered Bajadasaurus in 2010, which is super rare for sauropods and told them lots of new information.

Spikes pointing backward. The pronuspinax part of its name means 'prone spines,' referring to the spikes running down its neck that pointed backward rather than up.

Argentine discovery. Bajadasaurus lived in what is now northern Patagonia, Argentina, during the Early Cretaceous period when dinosaurs still ruled the world.

Brand new to science. This dinosaur wasn't described by scientists until 2019, so it's one of the newer discoveries and still has mysteries for paleontologists to solve.
