Extremely hot water. Boiling Lake is filled with water so hot it bubbles and steams constantly, creating a thick cloud of vapor that often covers the whole lake.
Fumarole creation. The lake exists in a place called a fumarole, which is an opening in the Earth where hot steam and gases escape from deep underground.
Second hottest lake. Boiling Lake is the second-largest hot lake in the entire world, beaten only by Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand.
On Dominica island. You can find Boiling Lake on the island of Dominica in the Caribbean, about 6.5 miles east of the capital city, Roseau.
Unusual blue color. The water has a striking greyish-blue color and stretches about 200 to 250 feet across, making it an amazing natural sight.
