Cool Facts
Punching with purpose. Boxers wear padded gloves and hand wraps to protect their knuckles and wrists from injury. These gloves also help cushion the impact for their opponent.
Safety gear matters. Besides gloves, boxers wear mouthguards to protect their teeth, a protective headgear, and sometimes nose guards. All this equipment helps keep fighters safe during matches.
Rounds and timing. A boxing match is divided into rounds, usually lasting 3 minutes each with short breaks between them. This gives fighters time to rest and get advice from their coaches.
Scoring the fight. Judges watch carefully and score points based on clean punches, technique, and control. The fighter with the most points at the end wins the match.
Speed and strategy. Boxing isn't just about being strong, it's also about quick footwork, timing your punches perfectly, and outsmarting your opponent in the ring.
