Mega-sized metropolis. Chicago is the third-most populous city in the United States with nearly 2.74 million people living there, making it the biggest city in the entire Midwest region.

Lake Michigan location. The city sits right on the western shore of Lake Michigan, one of the five Great Lakes, which gives Chicago beautiful waterfront areas and beaches for people to enjoy.

Skyscraper skyline. Chicago is famous for its incredible tall buildings and modern architecture that reach high into the sky and create one of the most recognizable city skylines in the world.

Huge metro area. The Chicago metropolitan area includes suburbs and nearby towns and has about 9.62 million people living in it, making it the third-largest metro area in the entire country.

County seat power. Chicago is the county seat of Cook County, which means it's the main city for the second-most populous county in all of America.
