Ireland's biggest city. Dublin is the largest city on the whole island of Ireland, with over a million people living in and around it. It's the capital where the government runs the country from.
Located by the water. Dublin sits right where the River Liffey flows into Dublin Bay, making it a perfect spot for a port city. Mountains called the Wicklow Mountains rise up to the south of the city.
Lots of people live here. Almost 600,000 people live in Dublin's main city area, but when you include all the suburbs around it, there are over 1.2 million people. It's a bustling, crowded place full of energy.
Gateway to Ireland. Being on the coast at Dublin Bay, the city has always been important for ships and trade. It's the main way many visitors enter Ireland when they arrive by boat.
Mountains nearby. The beautiful Wicklow Mountains sit just south of Dublin, giving people a chance to escape the city and enjoy nature without traveling far.
