The Golden Fleece

A Magical Ram. The Golden Fleece came from Chrysomallos, a ram with golden wool and wings. This amazing creature rescued a boy named Phrixus and flew him to a distant land called Colchis.

A Sacred Prize. When Phrixus arrived in Colchis, he gave the fleece to the king as a thank you. The king kept it hidden in a special sacred grove, guarded and protected.

A Famous Quest. A hero named Jason and his crew, called the Argonauts, sailed on an incredible adventure to steal the fleece. They succeeded with help from Medea, the king's clever daughter.

Symbol of Power. The Golden Fleece wasn't just pretty, it represented authority and kingship. Owning it showed you were a powerful and important ruler.

Ancient Story. The tale of the Golden Fleece is one of ancient Greece's most famous myths, told by storytellers for thousands of years.
