Huge Arctic Bay. Hudson Bay is a giant body of saltwater in northeastern Canada that covers about 1,230,000 square kilometers, making it one of the largest bays in the world.

Drains a Continent. Water from Hudson Bay's drainage basin comes from an enormous area covering parts of Canada and even reaches into five U.S. states including North Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana.

Gateway to Ocean. The Hudson Strait connects Hudson Bay to the Atlantic Ocean in the northeast, while Foxe Channel links it to the Arctic Ocean in the north, making it a crucial waterway.

Surrounded by Provinces. Hudson Bay is nestled between Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and Nunavut, with its waters belonging entirely to Nunavut but serving the whole region.
