First woman on Everest. In 1975, Junko Tabei became the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. She climbed it from the Nepal side, proving that women could accomplish the most challenging mountaineering goals.

Seven Summits champion. Junko didn't stop at Everest. She became the first woman to climb the Seven Summits, which means reaching the highest peak on every continent. This incredible achievement took dedication and years of climbing experience.

Teacher and author. Beyond mountaineering, Junko was also a teacher and writer who shared her adventures and knowledge with others. She wanted to inspire people, especially young people, to pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they faced.

Japanese pioneer. Junko grew up in Japan at a time when many people thought climbing mountains was only for men. She broke through these barriers and showed the world what women could achieve.

Determined and skilled. Junko trained hard and developed excellent mountaineering skills over many years before attempting Everest. Her success came from both physical strength and mental determination to reach her goals.
