Longhorn Beetles

Enormous beetle family. Longhorn beetles make up one of the biggest groups of beetles in the whole world, with over 35,000 different species living everywhere except Antarctica.

Antennae as long as bodies. These beetles got their name because their antennae are extremely long, sometimes stretching the same length as their entire bodies or even longer.

Wood-eating larvae. The babies of longhorn beetles, called larvae, tunnel through wood and can damage trees, plants, and even wooden buildings by eating their way through the inside.

Wildly colorful beetles. Longhorn beetles come in nearly every color you can imagine, from bright reds and blues to spotted patterns and metallic shine.

Super diverse worldwide. You can find longhorn beetles on every continent except Antarctica, living in forests, gardens, and deserts in all different shapes and sizes.
