Go-kart racing. In Mario Kart, you race on colorful tracks inspired by places from the Mario universe, like Princess Peach's castle and Bowser's lava kingdom. You compete against other players to cross the finish line first.

Power-up tricks. You collect special items during races, like speed boosts, shields, and banana peels you can throw at other racers. These power-ups change the race and help you come from behind to win.

Mario universe stars. The game features your favorite Mario characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and even the villain Bowser racing against each other. Each character has their own style and abilities.

Made by Nintendo. Nintendo developed and published Mario Kart, which means the same company that created Super Mario games makes Mario Kart games. There have been many different Mario Kart games on Nintendo's different gaming systems over the years.

Guest characters too. Some Mario Kart games include characters from other famous game series like Pac-Man, Zelda, and Animal Crossing, so you get to race with even more fun characters.
