Hundreds of Thousands. M13 contains somewhere between 100,000 and 1 million stars all packed together in a tight, roughly spherical shape. That is way more stars than we could ever count by looking up at the sky.

Easy to Spot. M13 is one of the brightest globular clusters visible from Earth, which means it is one of the easiest ones for people with binoculars or telescopes to find. It lives in the constellation Hercules.

Ancient Star Family. The stars in M13 formed billions of years ago, making them some of the oldest stars we know about. They are held together by gravity, orbiting around the cluster's center like a cosmic family.

A Glittering Ball. From far away, M13 looks like a giant, sparkling ball of light with a brighter center and dimmer outer edges. Thousands of stars blend together to create this beautiful sight.
