Peak of Power. The New Kingdom, which lasted from around 1570 to 1070 BC, was ancient Egypt's most prosperous and powerful era. This is when Egypt became the greatest empire in the world.
Three Great Dynasties. The New Kingdom included three major ruling families called the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth dynasties. Each dynasty brought famous pharaohs who built monuments and expanded Egypt's territory.
Incredible Builders. Pharaohs during this time constructed some of the world's most amazing structures, including temples, tombs, and palaces that still stand today. These monuments showed off Egypt's wealth and power to the world.
A Long Reign. The New Kingdom lasted about 500 years, from the 16th century BC until the 11th century BC. This long period of success made it one of history's greatest civilizations.
Expanded Territory. During the New Kingdom, Egypt controlled more land than ever before, stretching across North Africa and into the Middle East. This huge empire brought Egypt riches from trade and conquered lands.
