Canada's Capital. Ottawa is where Canada's government lives and makes all the important decisions for the whole country. It's the fourth-largest city in Canada with over 1 million people living there.

Two Rivers Meet. The city is built at a special spot where the Ottawa River and the Rideau River come together in southeastern Ontario. This location made it a perfect place for a capital city.

Across the Border. Ottawa sits right next to Gatineau, Quebec, on the other side of the border. Together with Gatineau, they form a huge metro area with about 1.5 million people.
