From real to abstract. Mondrian started by painting trees and landscapes that looked realistic, but over time he simplified them into geometric shapes. Eventually, he stopped trying to paint real things and just used lines and rectangles instead.

Straight lines everywhere. His most famous paintings use only black lines, white spaces, and blocks of primary colors like red, yellow, and blue arranged in a grid pattern. No curves or squiggles, just clean, precise lines.

Dutch pioneer. Mondrian was from the Netherlands and became one of the very first artists in the world to create pure abstract art. He proved that a painting didn't need to show a real object to be beautiful and important.

A theory behind it. Mondrian believed his geometric style could express the inner harmony and balance he saw in the universe. For him, art wasn't about copying nature but about revealing hidden order.

Changed art forever. His bold experiments influenced graphic design, architecture, and fashion for decades. Many logos, posters, and even clothing patterns today show the influence of his clean lines and color blocks.
