Nose grows when he lies. Pinocchio's most famous feature is his nose, which magically gets longer every time he tells a lie. This happens so often in the story that his nose becomes absolutely enormous, making it impossible for him to hide his fibs.

Carved from wood. A poor man named Geppetto carved Pinocchio from a piece of wood in a small Tuscan village in Italy. At first Pinocchio is just a wooden puppet, clumsy and without feelings.

Dreams of being real. More than anything, Pinocchio wants to become a real boy instead of staying as a puppet forever. His dream pushes him to try to be good and make his creator Geppetto proud.

Written in 1881. The Adventures of Pinocchio was written by Italian author Carlo Collodi and published in 1881, making it over 140 years old. It's one of the most famous children's stories ever told and has been translated into many languages around the world.
