Caught in the middle. Red wolves are sized right between coyotes and gray wolves, making them a perfectly medium-sized predator for hunting medium-sized prey like deer and smaller animals.

Southeastern home. These beautiful reddish-brown wolves live in the southeastern United States, where swamps, forests, and open woodlands give them perfect places to hunt and raise their families.

Critically endangered. Red wolves are one of the world's rarest canines, with only a few hundred left in the wild because hunting and habitat loss nearly wiped them out completely.

Pack family life. Red wolves live in small family groups called packs, where parents raise pups together and teach them everything they need to know about hunting and survival.
