Two separate districts. Saguaro National Park has two different areas: one west of Tucson and one east of the city. Together they protect 92,000 acres of Sonoran Desert landscape.

Tallest cacti around. The saguaro cactus is the giant of the cactus world and the park's most famous resident. These towering plants grow only in the Sonoran Desert and live for over 150 years.

Desert home. The park preserves the Sonoran Desert's unique plants and animals that have adapted to extreme heat and dry conditions. Visitors can hike through landscapes filled with cacti, creosote bushes, and palo verde trees.

Desert wildlife. Coyotes, javelinas, roadrunners, and Gila monsters all call the park home. The desert ecosystem supports hundreds of different species perfectly suited to life without much water.
