Tiny digger dinosaur. Shuvuuia was a small theropod dinosaur that lived in Mongolia during the late Cretaceous period, much smaller than the giant dinosaurs most people imagine.

Powerful little arms. Even though Shuvuuia's forelimbs were short, they were incredibly strong and specialized for digging, kind of like how a badger's claws help it burrow underground.

Desert creature. The species name 'deserti' comes from the desert habitat where Shuvuuia lived, showing that this dinosaur was adapted to dry, sandy environments.

Bird-like features. Shuvuuia belonged to a family called Alvarezsauridae that had many bird-like characteristics, which is why its name comes from the Mongolian word for 'bird'.
