Chromium shield. Stainless steel contains at least 10.5% chromium, which creates an invisible protective layer that stops rust from forming. This shield actually heals itself when the metal gets exposed to air.

Iron-based alloy. The main ingredient is iron, just like regular steel, but the addition of chromium and other elements transforms it into something much more durable and resistant to corrosion.

Custom blends. Scientists add different metals like molybdenum, nickel, carbon, and nitrogen to stainless steel to give it special powers for different jobs, from super stretchy to extra hard.

Never rusts. Because stainless steel resists corrosion so well, it's perfect for things that touch water or food, like cutlery, kitchen sinks, and cooking pots that last for decades without breaking down.
