Super Early Dinosaur. Staurikosaurus lived during the Late Triassic period, making it one of the very first dinosaurs to ever walk Earth, long before the famous T-rex and Triceratops appeared.

Fierce Hunter. This dinosaur was a meat-eater with sharp teeth and claws, perfectly designed for hunting smaller animals that lived alongside it in ancient Brazil.

Brazilian Discovery. Scientists found Staurikosaurus fossils in the Santa Maria Formation in Brazil, a special rock layer that preserves remains from the Triassic period.

Part of a Family. Staurikosaurus belonged to a group of early dinosaurs called herrerasaurids, which were some of the very first predatory dinosaurs ever to exist.

Medium-Sized Predator. Unlike later massive dinosaurs, Staurikosaurus was probably about the size of a large dog or wolf, making it a skilled hunter of the Triassic world.
