Wendiceratops

Horned plant eater. Wendiceratops was a centrosaurine ceratopsian, which means it ate plants and had impressive horns and a bony frill around its head. This frill probably helped it look impressive to other dinosaurs and protect its neck.

Lived in Canada. This dinosaur roamed what is now Canada during the Late Cretaceous period, millions of years before dinosaurs went extinct. Scientists have found fossils that tell us about this amazing creature.

Really, really old. Wendiceratops lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 80 to 85 million years ago. That was after the first dinosaurs appeared but before they all disappeared.

Named after discovery. This dinosaur was named Wendiceratops to honor Wendy Sloboda, a fossil expert who found important dinosaur remains in Canada. The name 'ceratops' comes from Greek words meaning 'horned face.'

Dinosaur relatives. Wendiceratops belonged to a group of dinosaurs called centrosaurines, which were closely related to the famous Triceratops. Both had horns and frills, though they evolved at different times.
